This year my mum and I went to the Tesco Christmas Launch in Dublin. There was loads of different foods to taste. They all looked yummy and they tasted amazing too! They had a DJ playing Christmas music and a table decorated with a Christmas dinner. Downstairs they had carol singers welcoming you in and a big Christmas tree with lots of presents underneath. There was a old movie playing and a lovely make-your-own gingerbread house. I loved it so much that they gave one to me! Thank You Tesco!!!

One day I had a friend round to help make the gingerbread house. The instructions were very easy to follow and the pictures were very clear. But make sure you knead the icing very well, mabye for 2-3 minutes. The instructions say to knead for 1 minute, but it wasn’t ready in the required time, so we went on for longer until it was smooth.

You have to use quite a bit of icing to glue it together, but there is more than enough icing. It was brilliant fun decorating it with all the icing and sweets!

My friend and I did one side each, hers looked much neater then mine though! It looked great! There was loads of icing left, so, we helped oursleves! I think that it costs €7.99 which is good value as it was very easy to make and we had a great time putting it together. It tastes just as good as it looks!

  1. My four year old done the Dunnes Stores gingerbread house on Christmas eve. It seld destructed a few seconds after a decent photo. It literally demolished infront of our eyes. Your 11 year did a fantastic job, looks great.

Thanks Kellie, I seemed to have missed your comment! Luckily you got to take a photo of your 4 year old’s gingerbread house before it self destructed! My daughter and her friend really enjoyed making the Tesco one. There wasn’t a peep out them for a good couple of hours 🙂
