Sligo Food Trail Launch
Last night was a special evening for Sligo food producers, it was the launch of the Sligo Food Trail. Those native to Sligo already know that the area is a fantastic foodie destination but as Aoife Carrigy, Chair of the Irish Food Writers’ Guild put it, ‘The great secret that is Sligo food is now out’.
There are 65 members of the Sligo Food Trail and by visiting Sligo and following the trail you will experience fresh, local, healthy and often organic food that nourishes your body while the scenery nurtures your soul.
The members of Sligo Food Trail were well represented last night at the launch in the stunning surroundings of the The Model. Sushi Sisters, Eithna’s By The Sea, Dr. Prannie Rhatigan, Lyons Cafe, Wild Atlantic Way Foods and many more food producers were there with samples of local culinary delights to keep the crowd well fed.
Well done to Anthony Gray, President of the Restaurant Associations of Ireland (and owner of popular restaurant Eala Bhán) and the committee who put the Sligo Food Trail together.
I recommend watching this video (by Pink Lime) which highlights all that #SligoFoodTrail has to offer.
