Luxurious Chocolate Truffles

Rich, divine, luxurious chocolate truffles - perfect presents or an after dinner treat.

 100g bar good quality dark chocolate (70% minimum)
 20g unsalted butter
 100ml double cream

Break up the chocolate into a medium sized bowl

Put the butter and cream into a saucepan and heat very gently until the butter melts and the cream is simmering

Pour over the chocolate and stir together until smooth

If you want to have different flavours, now is the time to split the mixture into a couple of different bowls

Cover the bowl(s) with clingfilm and put in the fridge for at least 4 hours, overnight is ideal.

Using a teaspoon, drag over the top of the mixture and then shape into a ball in your hand (this is very messy if your kids hands are very warm!)

Then dip your balls into whatever coating you like, some suggestions are below:

Place truffles onto tray with baking parchment paper and place back in fridge

Place in airtight container back in fridge for 3 days or freeze for a month

If giving as presents, keep in fridge until needed
