Marinated Sticky Chicken

We love this marinated sticky chicken recipe because it is incredibly easy and really tasty and will usually always make an appearance at one of our family BBQs.

This chicken is also delicious cold then next day for a picnic or school lunch.

We love this marinated sticky chicken recipe because it is incredibly easy and really tasty.

Marinated Sticky Chicken

 10-12 chicken drumsticks
 100ml orange juice
 6 squirts of ketchup
 3 squirts of HP sauce
 2 squirts soy sauce
 1 squirt sweet chilli sauce
 1 squirt Worcestershire sauce
 1 tsp Chinese five spice
 2 peeled & crushed garlic cloves

Pre-heat oven to 170 C (338 F)

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl/measuring jug

With a sharp knife, slice into the chicken pieces (to help the marinade work it's magic!)

Place the chicken and the marinade in a sealed bag

Give it all a good mix and place in the fridge for a few hours (overnight if possible)

Spill the chicken and the marinade out into a deep baking tray

Cook for an hour (basting and turning the chicken regularly)

When cooked through, finish off on a BBQ (if using)

Serve with new potatoes and a crunchy green salad

The kids can create the marinade pretty much on their own as the amount of ingredients aren't exact and they love eating these as well as they can get a bit messy!

Variations

While the oven is on, roast some peppers, tomatoes, courgettes and onions for approx 40 minutes to serve instead of a salad.
